The terrain includes roads & sidewalks\, with opportunities for adventurous off-roading through brambles in the creek-bed. \n Every walk unfolds a little differently. Your mileage\, terrain\, and endpoint may vary depending on the choices your group makes together along the way. DESCRIPTION:About this segment:\nOne of the challenges of this segment involves navigating how to cross the Schuylkill River (the border itself is at the City Ave bridge). \nIn order to prepare for the choices involved with this crossing\, it might be helpful to take a good look at this area both on Google Maps (in both terrain and satellite views) and at The Circuit Trails map for both current and future trails in development. \nThis segment is estimated to take roughly 9.5 miles and 5 hours. The terrain may include wooded & canal trails\, sidewalks\, multiple bridge crossing options. \nYour mileage\, terrain and endpoint may vary depending on choices made by your group; you can always choose to walk a partial segment. \nRegistration fees & contributions:\nWalk event fees cover some of the administrative and logistical costs associated with facilitating the walk and helping make this experience more accessible to others. The walk happens twice a year\, in February and September. Join JJ Tiziou and walk leaders for a day-long walk along to Northeast border of Philadelphia beginning with coffee and donuts at Glen Foerd. \nThe group will be leaving from Glen Foerd at 8:30am and walking north towards Somerton. \nSegments are estimated to take roughly 12-15 miles and 6-8 hours.
