SUMMARY:Municipal Solar: Benefits and How-To-Start
DESCRIPTION:It’s not too late to benefit from the Federal 30% credit for commercial solar systems operating by the end of 2027. \nJoin Solarize Greater Philadelphia and the Sierra Club to find out why now is the best time for municipalities to invest in solar. \nOn-site solar can help make energy costs more predictable and keep energy budgets stable for your municipality. We’ll hear from two municipalities that have installed solar and one that is planning to install solar. \nThere are currently two federal credits available that significantly reduce the cost of solar. A 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit and a 10% Community Energy Credit (in some areas) are available for systems installed and operating by December 31\, 2027. A 10% domestic content credit is also available. To meet the deadline\, projects should start their feasibility and financial analysis by this September. \nWe’ll also hear about Solarize’s services to help a municipality through the feasibility\, financial analysis\, and RFP process. Financing and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) options will be included. \nWhen: Wednesday\, August 19 | 12:00–1:00 PM\nRegister: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/nM5I6OAVQ8GrSP27CXuObw \nWith the key solar incentives facing the December 31\, 2027 deadline\, now is the time to get started with your solar project! The federal incentives also apply to non-profit organizations\, schools\, faith and businesses. These groups will also benefit from the lessons in the webinar.

SUMMARY:Exact Solar's Wrightstown Friends Meeting Solar Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Wrightstown Friends Meeting and Exact Solar on Monday August 18 for a tour of the Quaker Meeting’s solar energy array and heat pump.\n\n\nAs part of the 2025 Philadelphia Solar Week schedule of events\, join Wrightstown Friends Meeting and Exact Solar on Monday August 18 for a tour of the Quaker Meeting’s solar energy array and heat pump systems. The event will include a discussion on the benefits of on-site renewable energy for houses of worship. \nWrightstown Friends Meeting in Newtown\, PA leveraged federal incentives made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act\, installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and a geothermal heat pump. Philadelphia Energy Authority Director of Commercial Programs Lisa Shulock will provide an update on solar energy incentives and discuss Solarize Greater Philadelphia‘s free technical support and financial guidance for houses of worship and other tax-exempt properties.
