She brought the idea to Al Roker Entertainment\, and with the support of John Deere’s Tharlyn Fox\, filmmaker Eternal Polk was brought on board to write and direct the project. Completed in late 2022\, the documentary has been well-received at numerous film festivals in 2023\, winning several awards\, including Best Feature Film and Best Documentary. \n \nJohn Deere’s involvement in the film underscores its commitment to important storytelling\, aiming to connect audiences with the real-life impacts of heirs’ property issues and spark meaningful change. The artifact takes the form of a fully functioning 1910 Bell Mills vintage slot machine running on 5-cent nickels and its original century-old machinery but playing with a set of 6 new symbols. Sumpter designed these symbols to reflect the rich black history of Philadelphia’s 7th Ward\, her own family legacy\, and the archetypes and iconography of Illadelph Dreams: 2045.
