SUMMARY:Free Art Supply Fair
DESCRIPTION:Bring your old craft supplies and find that perfect piece for your next project!\n\n\nDo you have art supplies that you no longer need\, but are still in working condition? Would you love to find free materials that you do need? Then come to the Free Art Supply Fair! At this event\, you can bring art supplies you no longer want (but are still usable) for others to take\, and pick up new supplies for yourself from what others have brought. The event will take place on September 26th at Utility Works. \n \nDrop-off of supplies will open at 10 am and end at 2 pm\, no items may be dropped off before or after the designated time. Early drop-off can occur during Friday\, September 25th between 7pm – 8pm at the Utility Works building. The “shopping” period for supplies will last from 10 am to 4 pm. \n \nYou do not need to bring items to “shop”\, so feel free to stop in and see what others have brought. \n \nThe following types of supplies are accepted at the Fair: \n\nDrawing supplies\, such as pencils\, pens\, markers\, crayons\, etc\nPainting supplies\, such as still-usable paints\, brushes\, canvases\, frames\, etc\nPaper and sketchbooks\nScrapbooking materials\nFabric\, yarn\, thread\, usable scrap material\nPrintmaking supplies\nCeramic & clay work supplies\nUsable adhesive material such as glue\, paste\, tape\, etc\nSmall hand tools such as scissors\, hammers\, tape measurers\, etc\nStickers\, rhinestones\, glitter\, beads (MUST be in sealed containers)\nSilk flowers\nStorage containers\nStudio furniture such as desks\, lamps\, stools\, etc (must be intact\, usable\, and under 50 lbs)\nArt books\, photography books\, etc\nOffice supplies such as post-its\, paper clips\, notebooks\, etc\nAny other USABLE art & craft supplies!\n\nThe following types of supplies are not accepted at the Fair: \n\nHazardous material and e-waste (including solvents\, batteries\, electronics\, etc)\nContainers that are leaking\, dripping\, sticky\, or wet\nLiquid and semi-liquid materials such as paint or adhesives that are congealed or dry (or unusable for other reasons)\nConstruction materials over 50 lbs\, such as bags of concrete\nFurniture and appliances over 50 lbs\nGeneral garbage such as discarded wrappers/non-reusable packaging material\, unusable scrap material\, broken items\, etc\nWe retain the right to turn down any material deemed toxic\, hazardous\, too heavy\, or unacceptable for other reasons\n\n \nParking: \n\nThere is paid street parking payable by App.\nThere is a municiple parking lot 1/2 a block away at 18 N. Highland Avenue payable by app\, cash\, or card.\n\n \nFirst Floor Accessibility\n\nInclusive Design: Our first floor is designed to be inclusive and ensure accessibility for all.\nApproachable Entrance: Our entrance is approachable to all who enter\, providing ease of access for everyone.\nAccessible Restroom: We offer an accessible gender-neutral bathroom for the convenience of all visitors.\nWide Hallways: Our hallway is wide enough to accommodate wheelchair users\, ensuring smooth and easy navigation.

SUMMARY:Bread & Salt Drawing Experience
DESCRIPTION:With food as the inspiration\, participants will engage in a still life sketch club inspired by the Bread and Salt exhibition.\n\n\nBread and Salt Drawing Experience:  \nHosted by Keyonna Butler\, this still life sketch club inspired by the Bread and Salt exhibition offers charcuterie and desserts for a cozy celebration. Participants will engage in warm-ups\, guided observation prompts\, and a relaxed sketching session\, catering to artists and anyone seeking a creative break. \n \nAbout Bread & Salt:  \nBread & Salt is a community-centered project exploring the ways food shapes memory\, identity\, culture\, and connection. Through an exhibition\, a communal meal\, and a community cookbook\, the project invites artists\, cooks\, writers\, restaurants\, and residents to reflect on the stories carried through recipes\, traditions\, and shared tables. \nHow does food function as communication\, control\, memory\, or care? What does it reveal about power\, intimacy\, or belonging? Where does it connect us\, and where does it divide us? Across cultures\, bread and salt symbolize hospitality\, survival\, and belonging. \nDrawing from these themes\, Bread & Salt examines food as a form of care\, communication\, ritual\, labor\, and cultural inheritance. Together\, the exhibition\, potluck\, and cookbook create a living archive of the people\, histories\, and traditions that nourish community life. \n \nAbout the Gallery:  \nThis exhibition is organized by the Lansdowne Art Committee\, a volunteer group of The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation. The mission of the Lansdowne Arts Committee is to create\, foster\, and promote Lansdowne’s identity as a vibrant and inspiring artistic community. The Lansdowne Art Committee is dedicated to nurturing creative expression\, enhancing community engagement\, stimulating economic growth\, preserving and celebrating Lansdowne’s diversity\, and cultivating arts education and access. \nThe 20*20 House is a Lansdowne Borough owned property. Originally a residential home built in the early 19th century\, the 20*20 House has been transformed into a community space with gallery spaces on 2 floors\, a dedicated workshop space\, as well as a yoga studio. \nAccessibility Statement of 20*20 House: The LEDC and Lansdowne Art Committee are committed to provide a welcoming and accessible environment for all individuals\, including those with disabilities. Rest areas: There are benches and seating throughout the house for those who need to rest. A filtered water fountain is available to the public. \nSecond Floor Accessibility \nStaircase: The staircase has steep steps.
