Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to get back into clay\, this session focuses on foundational throwing techniques in a relaxed\, supportive environment. \nYour pieces will then be trimmed\, glazed\, and fired by the studio. \nWeek Two:Return to pick up your finished bowls and celebrate at a community ice cream social! Test out your handmade creations with a scoop (or two)\, connect with fellow participants\, and enjoy the simple joy of using something you made yourself. \n✨ What to Expect: \n\nBeginner-friendly instruction on the pottery wheel\nAll materials\, firing\, and glazing included\nYour own handmade set of ice cream bowls\nA fun and delicious ice cream social at pickup\n\nNo prior experience needed—just come ready to get a little messy and have a lot of fun. \n \nAges:\nRecommended for ages 10+\, with anyone age 10-13 welcome with an accompanying adult to supervise 1-on-1 for the duration of the class. \nParking:\n\nStreet Parking is Metered\nThe Highland avenue parking lot behind Dunkin Doughnuts is also available for parking\, if there is not closer street parking.\n\nAbout the Artist:\nLEE is a mixed-media ceramic and fibers artist with focuse on the natural practices of sculpting using color\, repetition\, and patterning. Lee was born and raised in Schuylkill County\, Pennsylvania\, and found his home as a 2019 Graduate of the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. He has dedicated his time to education that focuses on community engagement in hopes to encourage the creative mind. \nLEE is the Studio Coordinator at Utility Works. Over the past year he has developed the studio into a community space for local artists. He continues his efforts of dedicated creative growth with the partnership of the Lansdowne community and the LEDC. \nAccessibility:\nPlease note that this workshop takes place in the Utility Works basement\, which is only accessible via stairs. The class requires participants to be able to sit and/or stand for at least three hours and use their hands for two hours. You must be able to lift 25lbs. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms available for students\, including one that is ADA accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions\, please contact us in advance so we can discuss potential accommodations.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of An Adoptees Artistic Journey with wine and hors d’eouvres at the Kiosk Gallery\n\n\nFeaturing: Emma Sarr \nShow Dates: April 17\, 2026 – May 23\, 2026 \nReception: April 25\, 3pm – 5pm \nKiosk Gallery @ Utility Works \n32 E. Baltimore Ave\, Lansdowne\, PA 19050 \nGallery Hours: Wednesday – Saturday\, noon – 6pm \nThis exhibit displays Emma Sarr’s first step of her artistic journey. In this project\, Emma deeply considered her past and how her adoption has impacted her. Depictions of discovery\, awe\, Chinese American culture\, and self-understanding are displayed throughout the artwork. The core feelings and phases of this work include self-discovery\, imagination\, world-building\, and self-understanding. These works ask the viewer to admire\, imagine\, and explore what their own personal self-growth and identity journey has looked like. \n \nAbout the Gallery\nThis exhibition is organized by the Lansdowne Art Committee\, a volunteer group of The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation. The mission of the Lansdowne Arts Committee is to create\, foster\, and promote Lansdowne’s identity as a vibrant and inspiring artistic community. The Lansdowne Art Committee is dedicated to nurturing creative expression\, enhancing community engagement\, stimulating economic growth\, preserving and celebrating Lansdowne’s diversity\, and cultivating arts education and access. \nThe Kiosk Gallery is located in the front Lobby of Utility Works\, a creative co-working space in Lansdowne PA*. Originally home to Delaware County Electric and built in the early 20th century\, Utility Works* has been transformed into a creative co-working building that houses 23 art studios\, a ceramics studio as well as a Maker Space. \nParking: There is a municipal lot behind Dunkin’ Donuts that is available to the public\, as well as additional street parking along Baltimore Ave and Highland Ave. \nGallery Accessibility \nInclusive Design: Our first floor is designed to be inclusive and ensure accessibility for all. \nApproachable Entrance: Our front door on Baltimore Ave. (look for the gold doors) is an accessible entrance. DESCRIPTION:A Training Course on the Glowforge\, Sewing Machine\, and Public Art\n\n\n🧚✨ Fairy House Workshop & Woodland Walk 🌿 \nStep into a world of imagination\, creativity\, and a little bit of magic! In this hands-on workshop\, participants will design and build their own miniature fairy furniture\, doors\, and tiny details—then bring their creations to life outdoors. \nWe’ll begin in the makerspace\, where you’ll have the opportunity to use tools like the laser cutter and other machines to create detailed\, custom pieces for your fairy builds. You’ll learn how to safely and creatively translate simple designs into tiny furniture\, doors\, and decorative elements using a mix of digital fabrication and hand-building techniques. \nOnce your pieces are complete\, we’ll head out together on a guided walk to a nearby park. He has dedicated his time to education that focuses on community engagement in hopes to encourage the creative mind. \nLEE is the Studio Coordinator at Utility Works. Over the past year he has developed the studio into a community space for local artists. He continues his efforts of dedicated creative growth with the partnership of the Lansdowne community and the LEDC. \nAccessibility:\nPlease note that this workshop takes place in the Utility Works basement\, which is only accessible via stairs. The class requires participants to be able to sit and/or stand for at least three hours and use their hands for two hours. You must be able to lift 25lbs. With each harvest\, their vision of self-sufficiency was affirmed and grew stronger. \nNow the garden’s very existence is being threatened by the combined forces of wealth\, power\, and politics\, and these life-long friends – along with Mathew’s granddaughter Akiba – must battle a City Hall that considers their community treasure an impediment to progress. \nBlack Magic Woman Productions grew out of a need to create opportunities for theatre artists of color. Since 2006\, BMW Productions has promoted an appreciation for the African-American theatre canon. Featuring a diverse group of 5 contemporary artists who have called Lansdowne home—past and present—the exhibition examines how their time as residents unwittingly influenced their artistic practice. \nJoin Here & Gone curator and exhibiting artist Joseph Iacona at 2pm\, alongside other featured artists of the exhibit\, for a curator-led artist talk. Joseph will lead the public through a tour of the show. He will invite attending artists in the exhibition to share their story\, perspective\, and relationship as artists with Lansdowne and how their time in residence has influenced aspects of their art and life. In this single-session class\, young artists will learn the basics of handbuilding with clay using a simple and classic technique called pinch pots. \nPinch pots are an easy\, approachable way to explore clay. Kids will start by shaping a basic form and\, as their confidence grows\, can choose to turn it into something more imaginative\, like a bowl\, cup\, animal\, or small sculpture.  \nNo prior experience needed. The class is open to kids ages 6+. Parents for kids 6-13 are asked to stay; parents are welcome to play along\, though will not be given individual guidance.  \nThis class encourages creativity\, fine motor skills\, and hands-on exploration in a supportive and playful environment. \n \n \nMeet the Instructor:\nHunter Fussell is a multimedia artist and instructor for neurodivergent (and occasionally neurotypical) artists looking for ways to use their voice to create a body of work that is both functional and brings joy throughout its formation. DESCRIPTION:Kids Intro to Ceramics: Pinch Pots \nFebruary 7th | 🕓12pm – 1pm Utility Works | 32 E Baltimore Ave\, Lansdowne\, PA \nJoin us at Utility Works Creative Community\, and get hands-on with clay in this fun\, kid-focused introduction to ceramics! In this single-session class\, young artists will learn the basics of handbuilding with clay using a simple and classic technique called pinch pots. \nPinch pots are an easy\, approachable way to explore clay. Kids will start by shaping a basic form and\, as their confidence grows\, can choose to turn it into something more imaginative\, like a bowl\, cup\, animal\, or small sculpture. \nNo prior experience needed. The class is open to kids ages 6+. Parents for kids 6-13 are asked to stay; parents are welcome to play along\, though will not be given individual guidance. \nThis class encourages creativity\, fine motor skills\, and hands-on exploration in a supportive and playful environment.
