SUMMARY:What's Beyond the Fence Walk
DESCRIPTION:FOR ALL AGES\nAre you new to Tyler or a visitor who has never explored the trails outside the deer fence? Join Tyler docent Dave Charlton for a monthly series of leisurely walks on the Tyler Trails. We will spend one to one and a half hours learning to find our way in the natural areas while discovering seasonal changes in the landscape and the flora and fauna that inhabit it. We’ll keep to easy walking trails where you can feel free to bring the family. In November\, the leaves turn brilliant shades of red and gold\, blanketing the ground as they fall. The days grow quieter as nature settles in for the cold days ahead.\nCheck in at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide. As with any walk on the Tyler trails\, sturdy shoes are suggested. Participants should bring water and perhaps a walking stick. PLEASE NOTE: Strollers may not be ideal on some of our trails. DESCRIPTION:SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND TEENS AGES 15-17\nExperience the magic of Tyler at night!\nJoin us for a hike under the light of the full moon. Hiking at night is a unique sensory experience. We will use our senses of hearing\, smell and touch to navigate the forest. Our experienced guides will share points of special interest and seasonal highlights. We hope to see and hear some of the nocturnal wildlife that make a home in Tyler’s natural areas!\nThis moderately paced hike is for adults and teens comfortable walking 3+ miles on uneven terrain\, including short distances along steep trails. A registered adult must accompany teens. Bring a flashlight and wear sturdy hiking boots. Feel free to bring binoculars to observe the moon.\nThis program starts after Tyler’s closing hours. The gates will open 15 minutes before the program begins and close promptly 10 minutes after the start time\, so please be on time. DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Christina Teofilak and experience a slower flow class incorporating simple sequences suitable for beginners and intermediate levels. Poses will be guided with modifications focused on alignment and gentle movements\, along with breath. Please bring a yoga mat.\nClasses will be held on-site outdoors\, weather permitting or under-cover.\nMEMBERS (sign in for your discount!): $15 per single class\nNON-MEMBERS: $20 per single class\nEACH PARTICIPANT IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A WAIVER (CLICK HERE).  PRINT\, COMPLETE\, AND BRING THIS WAIVER WITH YOU TO YOUR FIRST CLASS.  \nUpon arrival\, please check in at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll then be directed to the location of your class.\nDrop-ins without pre-registration are welcome as space allows\, but to ensure a spot\, sign up beforehand! Please allow some time to register and pay at the Visitor Center before heading to class. First-time drop-in participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to class to sign a waiver. SUMMARY:Weekend Warm-up Hike
DESCRIPTION:The Weekend Warm-up Hike returns to Tyler’s hiking trails! Start your Friday off right with a brisk\, one-hour hike through Tyler’s gardens and natural areas beyond the deer exclusion fence. This hike is intended as a moderate cardio workout\, and we typically cover 2 1/2 to 3 miles in an hour. However\, we reserve the right to pause and enjoy whatever surprises nature offers. Be prepared for a mix of asphalt\, gravel and natural surfaces. Hikes are not suitable for those with limited mobility. We recommend bringing along a reusable water bottle. Please make sure to pre-register\, as this program takes place outside our normal operating hours.\nGATES OPEN AT 8 am. Please be on time as the group leaves promptly from the parking lot at 8:10 am\, and the gate will close at 8:15 am.\nPRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED; REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY BEFORE AT 5:00 pm.\nMembers: FREE (sign-in for discount)\nNon-Members: Adults (ages 18-64):$18 per person; Seniors (ages 65+): $15 per person. SUMMARY:Full Moon Hike
DESCRIPTION:SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND TEENS AGES 15-17\nExperience the magic of Tyler at night!\nJoin us for a hike under the light of the full moon. Hiking at night is a unique sensory experience. We will use our senses of hearing\, smell and touch to navigate the forest. Our experienced guides will share points of special interest and seasonal highlights. We hope to see and hear some of the nocturnal wildlife that make a home in Tyler’s natural areas!\nThis moderately paced hike is for adults and teens comfortable walking 3+ miles on uneven terrain\, including short distances along steep trails. A registered adult must accompany teens. Bring a flashlight and wear sturdy hiking boots. Feel free to bring binoculars to observe the moon.\nThis program starts after Tyler’s closing hours. The gates will open 15 minutes before the program begins and close promptly 10 minutes after the start time\, so please be on time. Once you arrive and park\, please check in with the staff associate at the Visitor Center Patio\, where the group will gather.\nREGISTRATION CLOSES 3 HOURS BEFORE THE PROGRAM  \nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED\nMEMBERS: Adults: $5 each; Teens ages 15-17: $3 each (sign in for your discount!)\nNON-MEMBERS: Adults: $12 each; Teens ages 15-17: $7 each\nGUEST PASS HOLDERS (for non-member use only): Adult guests: $5 each; Teen guests: $3 each. Please give the Visitor Center Associate your guest passes at check-in.
