On Thursday\, August 29 join us from 9 AM – NOON\, as we host a Maker Show and Tell to spotlight the incredible creations made using FABSCRAP materials from our amazing community members\, LIKE YOU! Please bring in either something you have made from FABSCRAP material OR your favorite FAB Find (sample garment\, weird oddity\, etc.) to reminisce with us!  \nThis session will be a casual volunteer session\, a chance for us all to share our favorite memories of FABSCRAP Philly\, and a chance to trade contact information with those friends you’ve met here and want to stay in touch with.  \nFABSCRAP will provide pizza and water from 11-1 for those who want to stay and enjoy some food.  \nWhen registering\, please select a “Community Member” ticket! \n*** Please note\, this event is invite only. \n*Note: If you choose to donate\, please make sure that you also choose a community member ticket. We will be showcasing a selection of mendables\, as well as fun fabrics you can utilize for your upcycling projects! \nDon’t miss out on this exclusive online event! Mark your calendars and get ready to refresh your fabric stash for the upcoming year. \nHelp us flourish and make a donation at check-out! \nOur operations are in urgent need of your support. Fundraising helps us make ends meet while we wait for invoices to be paid and grants to be granted. \nYour gift can help fund FAB essentials like our warehouse supplies such as scissors\, duct tape\, trash bags\, gaylord boxes\, and pallets! \n\n$10 Donation provides each sorting station with staple removers or scissors for deconstructing fabric headers\, and also helps cover the routine scissor sharpening maintenance.\n$30 Donation covers one box of black or clear trash bags used to sort and store scraps.\n$50 Donation will pay for one gaylord and/or pallet. We use about 10 per month to store and transport our scraps for recycling.

DESCRIPTION:Join FABSCRAP in our Earth Month SORT-A-THON! We will be open for 12-HOURS OF CONTINUOUS SORTING! Sign up for up to 6 hours of sorting!\n\n\nWHAT’S SORT-A-THON? \nSort-A-Thon is FABSCRAP’s 12-hour fabric sorting marathon event\, and we’re recruiting all our FAB friends to come and help sort fabric! Our goal is to sort 5\,000 pounds of textiles across both locations! FABSCRAP will provide meals\, and entertainment – creating an experience similar to a productive party and fundraiser. \nHOW DOES IT WORK? \nParticipants can register for 2-hour sorting blocks and take home 3 pounds of fabric for each 2-hr block they complete. For example\, 4 hours of sorting = 6 pounds of free fabric! So don’t forget to buffer in some time to shop after you’ve completed your final sorting block and redeem your free fabric! \n*Maximum of three\, 2-hour blocks per attendee. \nWHY? \nOn average\, we collect 7\,000 pounds of textile waste at both of our locations each week. In celebration of Leather Week\, a 20% discount will be honored on all orders!Thirty minutes before the event begins\, you will be emailed the event Zoom link as well as a Materials List and How-to-Order Instructions. Make sure to check your email before the event!Don’t miss out on this exclusive online event – sign ups are first come\, first serve! \nConsider adding a donation at check-out! Help us meet our 2024 fundraising goals so that we may continue meaningful work! \nYour gift can help fund FAB essentials like our warehouse supplies such as scissors\, duct tape\, trash bags\, gaylord boxes\, and pallets! \n\n$10 Donation provides each sorting station with staple removers or scissors for deconstructing fabric headers\, and also helps cover the routine scissor sharpening maintenance.\n$30 Donation covers one box of black or clear trash bags used to sort and store scraps.\n$50 Donation will pay for one pallet. We use about 10 per month to store and transport our scraps for recycling.
