SUMMARY:Archiving a Movement: Youth Zine Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Youth were a powerful force behind the No Arena movement. For many young people\, it was the first organizing campaign that they were part of. This workshop will be a reflection space to process the challenges they overcame and the power behind youth organizing. Youth participants will learn how to create a zine and have their work be part of a published No Arena archiving zine. \nThis workshop is ideal for high school/early college youth\, but we welcome younger students and accompanying parents and caregivers. \nThe workshop is led by Peri Law\, an artist\, a community organizer\, and the Youth Programs Coordinator of Asian Americans United. \nProject support provided by the Velocity Fund\, administered by Asian Arts Initiative\, with generous funding from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

SUMMARY:2026 Block Party at the Rail Park
DESCRIPTION:Our free family-friendly Block Party showcases our community through fun arts activities and delicious foods!\n\n\nBlock Party returns to the Rail Park this summer! This free family-friendly event showcases our community through fun arts activities and delicious foods\, and various cultural and neighbor organizations. \nAAI’s youth education program will collaborate on a public mural based on a mythological creation story imagined by the students. The story and characters will be rooted in the students’ experiences at AAI\, as well as inherited knowledge about the program. This public work serves to celebrate the legacy of our long-running youth education program\, as well as our beloved community park\, Rail Park. \nThrough an accompanied scavenger hunt\, the mural will invite viewers to interact with it by hinting at clues that implore visitors to explore the landscape in search of three-dimensional works scattered throughout Rail Park. \nThis event is supported by PNC Arts Alive and Friends of the Rail Park.
