Join us for a nature-writing camp in Philadelphia's historic FDR Park!In "Stories of FDR,” rising 5th–7th graders will spend the week creating writing inspired by the nature and history of FDR Park. Campers will explore the significance of this land using a range of different nature-writing genres, spanning from haiku to futuristic fiction. Together, instructors and campers will write stories about the land’s transformation and how they contribute to the landscape of nature.If the cost of attendance poses a financial barrier to you, we have full and partial scholarships available! On Saturdays, we meet from 9:30am–10:30am near Tacony Creek Park. All are welcome to join us for this free walking group. Art and Nature walk at Lardner's Point Park with a plant walk followed by a watercolor activity.This art and nature walk will focus on the diverse native plants in Lardner’s Point Park. We will learn about several key plants and their role in supporting a healthy ecosystem, as well as noting their visual elements (form, pattern, line).
