Then join longtime Wissahickon steward David Bower and his dedicated team of Crew Leaders and Trail Ambassadors for a variety of stewardship projects!\nAll are welcome to attend\, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level\, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said\, this service day may include the following activities:\n• Trail work: using long-handled tools\, moving heavy objects\n• Plantings: bending over\, crouching/squatting\, carrying up to 20 lbs\n• Invasive plant removal: bending over\, using long handled tools\n• Litter clean-up\n• Repetitive motions\nWe provide gloves\, tools\, and instruction–you just need to show up! For first-time visitors and anyone preferring a little more direction\, we have scavenger hunts to guide you and knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions. \nWe are open: Tuesday through Friday 9:30 to 4:30PM & on the First Saturday of the month from 12 to 4PM (September – December & February – June). First Saturday programs have their own EventBrite listings and often feature guest speakers. Come out on adventures away from the center and out into the trees\, creeks\, courses\, and more!\n\n\nTeen Adventure Camp expands teens adventures beyond Pennypackand climbing to mountain tops\, kayaking along lakes\, geocaching through new forests\, hitting their target\, soring through the tree tops\, meeting new animal and human friends\, and much\, much more. \nAll adventures will begin and end at Pennypack. Full-time staff will drive the team in City issued vans. Because of this\, space for this camp is extremely limited. \nTeens can join one\, some\, or all adventures. \nRegistration is open at Explore_PEC.eventbrite.com for Kayaking at Glen Foerd (8/4)\, and Disc Golf (8/5\, location TBD). Ziplining at TreeTrails in Trevose (8/8) and additional adventures will be added when confirmed. \nAges 13-17Prices vary per adventure. \nWe also have a Teen Advisory Council that is during the school year for teens that are interested in environmental leadership. Those teens that demonstrate involvement\, interest\, and leadership often are hired for summer work through the C2L2 Program. DESCRIPTION:Using a spectrum of basic to more involved sculptural stitches\, practice on an embroidery hoop and a guided sewable pattern book. All ages\n\n\nExperience a portable lesson in a variety of important embroidery stitches. Create a sampler book using sewable tutorials and practice on an embroidery hoop. We will sew in Studio 16\, tour the pier\, and move outside next to the bridgescape on Cherry Street Pier. All materials included. All ages and abilities. \nBonnie MacAllister iis going into her third year a a Resident Artist at Cherry Street Pier. Her studio practice involves interactive collaborative workshops demonstrating her studio practice of embroidery\, felting\, natural dyeing\, and recycled textiles. Her embroidery has been exhibited at the New York Public Library\, McLean Project for the Arts\, the New School / Parsons\, the State Museum of Pennsylvania. the Woodmere Museum\, Yellowstone Art Museum\, Trenton City Museum\, and Sandy Spring Museum. Bonnie is the recipient of a Fulbright-Hays to Ethiopia (2009) and a 2019-2022 40th Street AIR Fellow.

PRINT\, COMPLETE\, AND BRING THIS WAIVER WITH YOU TO YOUR FIRST CLASS.  \nUpon arrival\, please check in at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll then be directed to the location of your class.\nDrop-ins without pre-registration are welcome as space allows\, but to ensure a spot\, sign up beforehand! Please allow some time to register and pay at the Visitor Center before heading to class. First-time drop-in participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early for class to sign a waiver. Out of consideration for other participants\, we cannot admit drop-ins once a class has started.
