SUMMARY:Martha Rich\, Keith W Greiman\, Eric Kenney\, Max Seckel Opening @ Paradigm
DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we unveil new collections from Martha Rich\, Keith Warren Greiman\, Eric Kenney\, and Max Seckel.\n\n\nMartha Rich: It’s Always Today \nParadigm Gallery + Studio is pleased to present It’s Always Today\, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Philadelphia-based artist Martha Rich. In a feast-for-the-eye display\, Rich will unveil over 200 speech bubbles\, animals\, and objects\, which illustrate the humor\, enthusiasm\, and attitude of the city and its inhabitants. In response to the current overwhelming landscape\, Rich chooses to highlight the positive resilience that continues to show up in her community every day\, represented in pithy quotes. \nPlease email info@paradigm-gallery.com to receive the Collector Preview for the upcoming exhibition It’s Always Today\, or submit your request HERE. \nIt’s Always Today will be on view on the first floor of Paradigm Gallery + Studio from December 5 – 28\, 2025. \nKeith Warren Greiman\, Eric Kenney\, and Max Seckel: No Garden \nParadigm Gallery + Studio is pleased to present No Garden\, an exhibition of illustrative paintings featuring the work of Keith Warren Greiman\, Eric Kenney\, and Max Seckel. As artists known for creating spontaneous environments marrying commotion and color\, Greiman\, Kenney\, and Seckel come together to ask the question\, “What is a garden?” Turning away from the manicured or disciplined\, these artists explore cultivation as a lived-in environment\, enhanced by the frenzy of humans and their wares. No Garden is a self-fulfilling prophecy of giving a dismal landscape a decorative title and accidentally manifesting the beauty that comes with the name. \nPlease email info@paradigm-gallery.com to receive the Collector Preview for the upcoming exhibition No Garden\, or submit your request HERE. \nAll artists will be in attendance with opportunities to view and collect artwork from 3 floors of the Paradigm Arts Building. \nThe reception is free and open to all. All artwork will be available to collect during the opening. Please email info@paradigm-gallery for any inquiries prior to the reception.

SUMMARY:Trolley Trail Hike
DESCRIPTION:Explore the physical remains of what is now a hidden trolley network.\n\nDATE\nSaturday\, December 6 \n\n\n\nTIME\n10:00 am – 1:00 pm \n\n\n\nLOCATION\nTrolley Trail Entrance \nChamounix Drive\n(Parking lot across from Ridgeland Mansion)\nPhiladelphia PA 19131 \n\nJoin Fairmount Park Conservancy for a guided 4-mile hike to learn about the Trolley Trail’s fascinating past and present. The Fairmount Park Trolley operated in East and West Park from 1896-1946\, providing a reliable and enjoyable means of accessing park amenities. Explore the physical remains of what is now a hidden trolley network including massive stone tunnels and bridge abutments along this loop hike. \nMore about the Trolley Trail: Fairmount Park Conservancy\, along with partners at Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Belmont Plateau Trails Alliance\, have been working to develop the Trolley Trail – a scenic multi-purpose trail that loosely follows the path of the former Fairmount Park Trolley. New gateways\, trail signage\, and bike racks were recently added and a ribbon cutting was held in November 2023. Read more here. \nTICKET PRICE: $10 \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO: \n\nThe hike is roughly four miles in length over mainly hilly trails.\nAppropriate for adults and families with children ages 14 and up. Minors must be registered and accompanied by an adult.\nPlease dress according to weather conditions and wear good hiking shoes (boots/sneakers).\nPlease bring your own water and snacks (drinking water is not available in the park).\nUnfortunately\, there are no bathrooms along the hike route so please plan accordingly.\nWe will leave promptly at the scheduled time. Please arrive at the departure location at least 5 minutes early. Latecomers aren’t guaranteed to join after the group has departed.\nImportant pre-event information and any event updates are sent out via email. Please make sure the email address entered is correct and that you check it before coming out to the event.\n\nPARKING/GETTING THERE: The Trolley Trail entrance is located at the intersection of Belmont Mansion Drive and South Chamounix Drive. There is plenty of free parking available in the park. As always\, NEVER leave valuables in your car! If traveling by public transit\, the nearest stop is at Ford and Cranston Road – a one-mile walk from the start. The nearest Indego bike station is at MLK Drive and Strawberry Mansion Bridge – also about one mile away. \n\nQUESTIONS? Please reach out to programs@myphillypark.org

SUMMARY:Peace Present: Mini Wellness Retreat
DESCRIPTION:As the holiday season approaches\, how can you find ways to stress less\, enjoy more\, and replace feeling overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude?  \nTake some time for yourself to find steadiness and ease at our mini wellness retreat at Hildacy Preserve.  \nDuring the session\, Christina Fittipoldi will lead a gentle yoga movement\, accessible for all\, and breathwork practice to support self-awareness.  \nIf weather permits\, there will be time for exploration and reflection of the preserve. We will explore the beauty of Hildacy with a moving meditation connecting us to nature to soothe our souls.   \nFinish your morning with a sound bath with singing bowls played on and off the body for deep relaxation\, and grounding offered by certified vibrational sound practitioner Mindie Hung. The singing bowls grant the mind the opportunity to disconnect to turn inward.  \nAbout our instructors:   \nChristina Fittipoldi: Completed a 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training in May 2015 and began teaching a wide variety of asana movement at multiple studios. Eager to dive deeper\, she completed the 300-hour teacher training at Main Line Yoga Shala in December 2019 entitled “Agni Moksha.” She enjoys guiding students mindfully through safe and responsible movement using body and breath awareness\, allowing students to journey within.  \nMindie Hung: In 2017\, she became a certified vibrational sound therapy practitioner with the Vibrational Sound Association after her own healing journey began while experiencing the power of sound healing. Since then she has had many clients report feeling a deeper sense of connection to self\, feeling more relaxed\, better sleep and overall well-being. Some benefits of sound healing include improved mental focus\, reduced stress and anxiety as well as improved mood.

SUMMARY:Origami Star Decorations
DESCRIPTION:Seen the viral TikToks of mini lucky stars and always wanted to give them a try? This is opportunity for you to learn how to make the stars and even how to turn them into an ornament\, a garland or an 8″ tree! \nAll colors and patterns of papers will be available to help your creativity thrive. \nIf you don’t finish your project during the class\, you’ll leave with everything you need to make one of the projects from start to finish and the knowledge to make more. \nThese stars are deceptively simple looking – but once you learn the secrets you can make them without looking! \nThis class is best for teens and adults because there will be sharp needles available to make the garlands and hot glue guns to make the trees. Children 10-14 are welcome with an accompanying adult to supervise 1-on-1 for the duration of the class.
