SUMMARY:Devan Shimoyama: SHIFT
DESCRIPTION:Glassboro\, NJ (January 6\, 2026) — Philadelphia native artist Devan Shimoyama will present new work in his regional debut\, SHIFT at Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum. This solo exhibition runs January 26 to March 21. Opening reception Wednesday February 4th 2026 at 5-7pm. \nDevan Shimoyama is a visual artist who works primarily in painting and self-portraiture\, with works inspired as much by classical mythology as by the culture of his youth. Through his depictions of the queer Black male form\, Shimoyama investigates the politics of queer culture while navigating his own personal narratives. Referencing the dramatic sensibilities of painters such as Caravaggio and Goya\, he layers his surfaces with jewels\, black glitter\, rhinestones\, and sequins to evoke both the beauty and alienation of the Black queer body.

See you there! \n\n\n\n\nMore about Black Lotus HHC \n \nBlack Lotus Holistic Healing Collective is known for is a space designed for BIPOC healers/practitioners to be centered in the healing in order for them to heal those in the BIPOC community. Vibrational healing is the ancient art of healing with sound; it traces back to ancient Egypt & Tibet. Sound vibrations can heal the physical body at a cellular level by adjusting blockages and imbalances. These imbalances can cause the body to have a slower frequency vibration which may lead to dis-ease or illnesses. Natural healing sound frequencies can be transferred or introduced externally or directly into the body to create a more harmonious state. \nAt Black Lotus\, we combine the use of crystal chakra singing bowls\, gongs\, tuning forks\, and more to give a relaxing & transformative experience. We can balance chakras\, repair auras\, uplift the mood or help with grounding. Vibrational healing is a great tool for meditation\, alleviating stress\, and relaxing stiff or sore muscles. \nFor more visit: www.diasporaeducationalservices.org/black-lotus \nhttps://linktr.ee/blacklotushhc \n\n\n\nDIRECTIONS: \n \nBlack Lotus is not on Lincoln Drive despite the address…it is actually on Rittenhousetown Lane. SUMMARY:Equal Exchange Tasting Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a delicious adventure exploring Fair Trade products with Equal Exchange!\n\n\nEqual Exchange Tasting Event \nEqual Exchange began with a simple yet powerful idea: What if food could be traded \nin a way that is fair and honest\, empowering both farmers and consumers? Since \n1986\, we have been creating people-centered supply chains that prioritize producers\, \nconsumers\, and our planet. Unfortunately\, our food system is increasingly dominated \nby a select few\, often to the detriment of many. At a time when so many want our \nfood to be both convenient and to reflect our values\, can we challenge ourselves to \ncreate something different? \nJoin Frankie Pondolph for a journey into our small farmer model. We will be highlighting our partners around the globe\, through tasting a variety of our products.
