DESCRIPTION:The Weekend Warm-up Hike returns to Tyler’s hiking trails! Start your Friday off right with a brisk\, one-hour hike through Tyler’s gardens and natural areas beyond the deer exclusion fence. This hike is intended as a moderate cardio workout\, and we typically cover 2 1/2 to 3 miles in an hour. However\, we reserve the right to pause and enjoy whatever surprises nature offers.\nPlease come prepared to walk on a mix of asphalt\, gravel\, and natural surfaces. Solid hiking shoes are a must\, and hiking poles are recommended. Hikes are not suitable for those with limited mobility. Please make sure to pre-register\, as this program takes place outside our normal operating hours. GATES OPEN AT 7:45 am. Please be on time as the group leaves promptly from the parking lot at 8:10 am when the gate closes.\nPRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.\nMembers (sign in for your discount!): Adults: FREE\nNon-Members: Adults (ages 18-64):$18 per person; Seniors (ages 65+): $15 per person. DESCRIPTION:Interactive weaving exhibition featuring installations of Delaware River Girls\, an animatronic tree that accepts wishes\, and community looms\n\n\nHead upstairs to the Terrace Gallery at Cherry Street Pier this August for Weaving on the Waterfront\, a colorful and hands-on fiber art exhibit by Pier artist-in-residence Bonnie MacAllister\, with featured work by Philly artist Jamie Campbell.\n \nThe gallery will showcase beautifully woven and handspun pieces made from recycled materials and natural fibers. The exhibit also highlights a special community project—original weavings created on no-waste looms during free First Friday workshops. \nJoin us for the Opening Reception on First Friday\, August 1\, from 5 pm to 7 pm. \nAbout the Artists:Bonnie MacAllister is a fiber artist and educator who leads engaging workshops in embroidery\, felting\, dyeing\, and upcycling. DESCRIPTION:Spend the afternoon in an interactive fibers exhibition\, learn poetic forms and construction\, create original work inspired by art\n\n\nHead upstairs to the Terrace Gallery at Cherry Street Pier this August for Weaving on the Waterfront\, a colorful and hands-on fiber art exhibit by Pier artist-in-residence Bonnie MacAllister\, with featured work by Philly artist Jamie Campbell.\n \nThe gallery will showcase beautifully woven and handspun pieces made from recycled materials and natural fibers. The exhibit also highlights a special community project—original weavings created on no-waste looms during free First Friday workshops. \n \nAbout the Artists:Bonnie MacAllister is a fiber artist and educator who leads engaging workshops in embroidery\, felting\, dyeing\, and upcycling. She’s also a current Studio 16 resident at Cherry Street Pier. She is a 2009 Fulbright-Hays awardee to Ethiopia\, a 2007 Pushcart Prize Nominee and five time slam poetry champion in the United States and France. Her international publication credits include Black Robert Journal\, Paper Tiger Media\, Dead Drunk Dublin and Other Imaginal Spaces\, and nth Position. Bonnie’s artist books have been acquisitioned by Barnard College\, the Utopian Library in Viareggio\, Italy\, and in la Galería del MEC\, Montevideo\, Uruguay. \nJamie Campbell is a Philly-based fiber artist\, puppet maker\, and creative powerhouse who blends nature\, folklore\, and found materials into imaginative works that tell a story. \nParking on-site will be limited due to I-95 CAP construction.
