We believe music can oftentimes speak for itself without lyrics. Our group developed an eccentric sound through casual jam sessions that stem from our own individual explorations of music. Their lively rendition of Judy Garland’s Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart reaching #17 on the R&B chart\, and The Night the Lights Went Out also highlighted their talent and versatility. Other Trammps hits on Atlantic included\, Disco Party\, Body Contact\, I Fell Like I’ve Been Livin’ (On The Dark Side Of The Moon)\, The Night The Lights Went Out\, and Soul Bones\, which features a harmonica solo by Stevie Wonder. \nThe Trammps are also known for performing the iconic Soul Train theme song\, “TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia).” This track became the anthem of the popular music and dance TV show Soul Train in the 1970s. \nMeet & Greet\, Available All Day. \nLinks: \nThe Trammps – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trammps \nTHE TRAMMPS® OFFICIAL WEBSITE – https://www.thetrammps.net \n> > > > > > > Historical Attractions on Germantown Ave \nGermantown White House (Deshler-Morris House):\nThis historic house served as the temporary residence of President George Washington. SUMMARY:Death & Life at Mt. Moriah Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:Mount Moriah is the largest cemetery in Pennsylvania\, and home to some of our city’s finest grave architecture.\n\n\nMount Moriah is the largest cemetery in Pennsylvania\, and home to some of our city’s finest grave architecture. Trees and vines have engulfed the gravestones in some areas\, giving the place the atmosphere of a lost city in the jungle. Almost every style of tomb can be found here\, from Egyptian Revival to Art Nouveau. Guests will learn about the role of cemeteries as a place for leisure in the Victorian era\, as well as the influence of the Freemasons. Part wilderness and part sculpture-garden\, this city of the dead is by turns eerie and poignant. Join Hidden City as we peel back the canopy and reveal the wonders below. \n \nIMPORTANT DETAILS \nWe’ll meet at the main gate\, where Kingsessing dead-ends at 62nd Street.***If you’re using Google Maps type in 6191 Kingsessing Avenue*** \nThis tour requires significant walking\, so practical shoes and water are a must. There are plenty of ticks\, especially as the weather warms\, so we recommend long pants\, socks\, and most of all a careful check of oneself after the tour is over. \nTour guide John Vidumsky has been exploring abandoned spaces for as long as he can remember. He has an MA in history from Temple University\, where he studied 20th-century Russian history. John was Hidden City’s first intern! \nHidden City Members\, remember to use your promo codes for discounts! \nQuestions\, concerns\, conundrums?
