SUMMARY:Transit 4 All PA! State transit funding\, updates from Harrisburg\, and HOW WE'LL WIN
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a statewide all-hands call to learn what’s happening with the PA budget\, and how we can win Transit for All PA!\nWe know that public transit is a lifeline for everyone in Pennsylvania\, no matter if they live in small towns\, big cities\, suburbs\, or rural areas. But funding for transit is in peril in all 67 counties of our state. \nLegislators have once again missed the state budget deadline of June 30th\, so it’s time to put the pressure on. We’re running a campaign telling Harrisburg: no budget without transit! We need a budget that prevents transit system collapse across the state. \nJoin our meeting to connect with transit advocates across the state\, and learn:\n– What’s happened in Harrisburg so far regarding the transit budget\n– How our movement has grown\, adapted\, and driven this fight\n– What’s next for our movement\, and how we can win expanded\, equitable transit for all 67 counties\nThe fight for transit that truly meets our needs–whether we live in Pittsburgh or Pottstown\, Altoona or Allentown–is far from over. Though we’re past the deadline\, we expect PA to pass a budget soon\, and we know we’re in for a long fight for transit restoration and expansion. Join our statewide all-call for an update on where our fight goes from here!

SUMMARY:Summer Creative Practice Series
DESCRIPTION:Join coven organizer Cassie Jones in an open studio session of discussion and crafty play. Different mediums each day\, & enjoy a free beer!\n\n\nCome by the coven studio at 10 North Third Street and join in on whatever craft I’ve got planned for the group. Throwback style to hosting events in my basement for years\, I get to choose the craft\, and you just show up! \nThis series will serve as a creative exploration project both for me\, and for anyone that chooses to come to multiple sessions. People often ask me how I’ve built up a collection of so many different skillsets in the craft and art world- this is how. I’ll be inviting you all into my studio to see how I work from one project to the next\, and how each of them are treated as a way to hone my artistic mind and keep the motivations flowing in a productive direction. \nEach session will begin with a circle discussion of what we’ve been processing in our art lately\, and where we’d like things to go next. We’ll trade feedback with anyone looking for insight on their work\, and each person will have an alotted time to speak -or not speak- After the discussion portion of our workshop I’ll introduce the skill for the day\, something different for each group. Some of the projects that are on the list for this summer are: \n-Puppet Building \n-Stop Animation \n-Gelli Printing \n-Cyanotypes \n-Accessory Design \nWe’ll make some things together and work open studio style. Feel free to bring your own projects and you have access to the tools on hand. Message if you’re looking for something specific like a sewing machine etc. \nBYO snacks\, beverages\, party favors etc. I’ll have beers available\, filtered water and a handful of tea varieties. \nAbout the Location: \nThe coven studio is located in the heart of Olde City in a below ground storefront. There are 10 steps down to get into the space\, and our ceilings are not very high. Anyone over 6’4″ will have watch their head until they have a seat. Any more questions about the space or accessibility-please reach out!
