This will be a moderate hike of around 4 miles on the Wissahickon Park’s trails. Children 12 and over and well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Winter in the park provides great views and a different experience that walking in the park during the spring\, summer\, and early fall. We will start at the Valley Green Inn. \nDistance: ~3.5 miles \nLevel: Moderate (some inclines and declines\, uneven surfaces) \nRegistration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. We ask all event attendees to bring a mask and mask up if a distance of six feet cannot be maintained during the activity. If you or anyone in your household are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms\, please stay home. Volunteers will sort through fabric samples and swatches\, separating fabric from paper headers and folding large\, usable fabric to be saved for reuse. We moved to a new space in BOK! We are now in Unit B05A. Please review the directions below for visiting our new space. \nWhen registering\, choose: \n\nFirst Time Volunteer Sorter if this is your first time volunteering with us\nReturn Volunteer Sorter if you’ve sorted with us before\n\nN ote: If you choose to donate\, please make sure that you also choose a sorter ticket. \nFABSCRAP Philly is committed to keeping our volunteers\, community\, and team safe: \n\nAll visitors are encouraged to wear a mask in the FABSCRAP warehouse.\nVolunteer stations are comfortably spaced apart for individual use (unless you opt to share with a friend)\nCleaning and sanitizing of volunteer stations and frequently touched surfaces will take place between all volunteer sessions.\nThe FABSCRAP team will be wearing masks.\nHand sanitizer is available.\nWe ask that volunteers cancel their session and stay home if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms including fever\, cough\, and/or gastrointestinal issues (see additional info from the CDC). We will meet at the Pennypack Environmental Center\, then enjoy new adventures each week. Kids can join for one\, some or all adventures.\nChildren ages 6-12. \nThis is a drop off only program.\n$5 per child per day \n\nTentative Adventure Themes\nW November 8: Geology Rocks \nT November 14: Campfire\nT November 21: Lenape\nT November 28: Turkey Tails & Pine Cones\nT December 5: Winter Gifts\nT December 12: Winter Owls\nT December 19: Where’d everyone go?!\n\nParking is available at the center with additional street parking.  \nThe center\, bathrooms\, and picnic areas are all accessible\, however\, the trails are rocky and uneven. \nThis is an all-weather\, outdoor program. We would like to host our final monthly meeting for the year in person at the DuPont Environmental Education Center in Wilmington\, DE. This event will feature networking\, a brief meeting\, lunch\, and a walk in the Russell Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge. Please let us know if you can join us in person! \n \nAccessibility notes: \n\nWe are not planning to provide a virtual component to this meeting.\nThe entire event\, including elevator access to the 4th floor meeting room and the Jack A Markell Trail\, is wheelchair accessible.\nThere is free parking available at the DuPont Environmental Education Center.
