SUMMARY:Community Clean-up Day
DESCRIPTION:It’s time for spring cleaning! On March 16 we’re calling everyone who cares about nature to join us for a community cleanup day at the Schuylkill Center. We’ll be working along the roadside picking up trash\, cleaning up fallen branches\, and getting the Center ready for the spring season. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. So roll up your sleeves and come out to make a difference for the neighborhood! \nWhat to Bring: Gloves and bags will be provided for litter pick up\, as well as tools for invasive species management. Have your own tools and supplies? Feel free to bring them! Dress for the weather and be sure to pack your water bottle. \nWhere: Meet us at the corner of Hagy’s Mill Road and Port Royal Ave at 10 a.m. Look for our Schuylkill Center white welcome tent where our staff will meet you to share tools and instructions for cleaning up. Volunteers can park in our Hagy’s Mill Road lot\, or towards the Roxborough Reservoir Parking Area. \nNote: Groups and walk-ins welcome\, however registration is recommended for staying in the loop about any changes in plans due to weather.

We have a 15 minute grace period. If we are not notified and you are more than 15 minutes late\, you may not be permitted to join the class. Our classes are only 2 hours long and it is difficult to catch up students when they are late. \nThe Tacony LAB’s classes are unique in Philadelphia: we do not charge tuition or any sort of fees for any of our classes. \nOur classes are popular and often have wait-lists. If you enroll in a class\, please commit to attending it! \nHow to enroll in a Tacony LAB class: \n• You may enroll IN PERSON at the LAB beginning 3 weeks before a class first meets. Please check the “About” section of the LAB’s Facebook page for open hours or call the LAB at 267-686-7420 to hear the hours. \n• You may enroll online using Eventbrite beginning one week before a class first meets (provided there are still spaces) by visiting our Eventbrite page: www.eventbrite.com/o/the-tacony-lab-community-arts-center-1… \nIf you enroll ahead of time and do not attend the first class\, you will be removed from the roster and your place will be offered to another student. \nIf you need to miss subsequent classes or decide you no longer wish to attend\, please notify the LAB by phone call or email ahead of time. \nIf you do not notify the LAB of absence or withdrawal\, you will not be able to enroll in another class until 3 months have passed. \nAll current COVID-19 policies required by the City\, State and CDC must be followed by all attendees.
