DESCRIPTION:Join the Penns Woods Winery team on Tuesday\, April 22nd from 9:30am – 11:30am for our annual Earth Day Clean Up within First State National Historical Park! \nClean Up Details\nWe will meet at the Tasting Room at 9:30am then heading out to clean up areas of First State National Historical Park along Beaver Valley Rd. & Beaver Dam Rd. All cleanup supplies (bags\, gloves\, safety vest\, etc.) will be provided! To ensure volunteer safety\, please wear closed toe comfortable walking shoes. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear long sleeved shirts\, pants & sunscreen. Much of our cleaning will take place roadside\, as such\, all volunteers must be 18+. DESCRIPTION:Clinic Cleaners are volunteers who help us maintain a neat and tidy space for our patients at the Wildlife Clinic.\nWildlife rehabilitation can be messy work\, and volunteers foster a healthy environment by assisting with laundry\, sweeping floors\, and cleaning the lobby. This allows our expert staff to focus more time on caring for the thousands of animals that the Wildlife Clinic cares for every year.\nRegister Now\nCleaning materials and personal protective equipment\, such as gloves and masks\, are provided. Volunteers should wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty (yes\, that includes animal waste) and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Clinic Cleaners will not be working directly with animals or have access to patient areas. Clinic Cleaners must be at least 18 years old to sign up. Due to limited space\, we are unable to accept walk-ins.\nCan’t make this date but want to attend an upcoming event? DESCRIPTION:Even nature needs a little spring cleaning! On Saturday\, March 29th from 10am-12pm\, join us for our annual Community Cleanup Day. We will be working along the roadside to pick up trash\, clear fallen branches\, and do some general tidying for the spring season. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.\nSign Up\nWhat to Bring\nGloves\, bags\, and tools will be provided\, but you are welcome to bring your own! Dress for the weather and pack a water bottle.\nMeeting Place\nMeet us at the corner of Hagy’s Mill Road and Port Royal Ave at 10 a.m. Look for our Schuylkill Center white welcome tent where our staff will meet you to share tools and instructions for cleaning up. Volunteers can park in our Hagy’s Mill Road lot\, or towards the Roxborough Reservoir Parking Area.\nGroups and Walk-Ins\nGroups and walk-ins welcome\, however registration is recommended for staying in the loop about any changes in plans due to weather.

SUMMARY:Clinic Cleaners
DESCRIPTION:Clinic Cleaners are volunteers who help us maintain a neat and tidy space for our patients at the Wildlife Clinic.\nWildlife rehabilitation can be messy work\, and volunteers foster a healthy environment by assisting with laundry\, sweeping floors\, and cleaning the lobby. This allows our expert staff to focus more time on caring for the thousands of animals that the Wildlife Clinic cares for every year.\nRegister Now\nCleaning materials and personal protective equipment\, such as gloves and masks\, are provided. Volunteers should wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty (yes\, that includes animal waste) and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Clinic Cleaners will not be working directly with animals or have access to patient areas. Clinic Cleaners must be at least 18 years old to sign up. Due to limited space\, we are unable to accept walk-ins.\nCan’t make this date but want to attend an upcoming event? DESCRIPTION:Help us to improve the health and biodiversity of our forest while getting to know our vast\, 365 acres of protected land! This is a great opportunity for those who are looking to learn more about plant identification and restoration techniques while connecting with nature and other members of your community.\nTogether\, we will work to remove invasive plant species and improve our trails. No experience is necessary. We recommend wearing long pants and sturdy boots and bringing a pair of gloves if you have them available. We will have a selection of gloves if needed\, along with tools\, water and snacks! Please bring your own water bottle. Note: Our volunteer workday will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather. SUMMARY:Horticulture Volunteer Day
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers will support seasonal plantings\, weeding\, invasive species removal\, and support greenhouse maintenance. \nRegistered volunteers will meet at the Welcome Center promptly at 9:30 AM. Staff will separate groups and provide instructions and safety protocols for the day. Out of respect and safety for our staff and others\, please arrive on time. \nPLEASE NOTE: Capacity is limited; participants MUST be pre-registered (using link below) in order to partake. Each adult must register individually in order to complete the required waivers. \nRegistration full but would like to still participate? Please contact Kimani Keaton at kimani@bartramsgarden.org to be added to our waitlist. Parents/guardians must complete registration for individuals 18 and under. \nPlease also email Kimani immediately if you plan on cancelling your attendance\, so that we may make room for those on our waitlist. \nThank you! \nHealth reminders: We are in accordance with Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia’s current COVID-19 response levels.
