SUMMARY:Mausoleum Hill Community Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery invites neighbors and history lovers to join a cleanup day at Mausoleum Hill on the Yeadon side of the cemetery. \nVolunteers will work to restore Mausoleum Hill\, home to some of the cemetery’s most notable structures and the final resting places of people whose lives are woven into the fabric of Philadelphia history. \nPlease bring personal hand tools\, gloves\, and safety gear. We have a limited supply to lend\, so the more you can bring\, the better. Gas-powered weed whackers are especially helpful. Pack a lunch\, water\, sunscreen\, and bug spray. This is a come-and-go event. Show up when you can\, stay as long as you’re able. Anyone is free to help out. Families\, scouts\, and service organizations are encouraged to join. \nMount Moriah has always been a place for the whole community\, and the work of restoring this place starts with neighbors like you. We hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Even nature needs a little spring cleaning! On Saturday\, March 28th from 10am-12pm\, join us for our annual Community Cleanup Day. We will be working along the roadside to pick up trash\, clear fallen branches\, and do some general tidying for the spring season. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.\nSign Up\nWhat to Bring\nGloves\, bags\, and tools will be provided\, but you are welcome to bring your own! This is a great opportunity for those who are looking to learn more about plant identification and restoration techniques while connecting with nature and other members of your community. Together\, we will work to remove invasive plant species and improve our trails.\nWorkday Details\nNo experience necessary to volunteer. Training will be provided by our expert staff during the workday. We recommend wearing long pants\, sturdy boots or shoes. We will have a selection of gloves if needed but volunteers are welcome to bring their own if they have a favorite pair. We will provide tools for our volunteers. Food and beverage vendors will also be available. \nIndivisible: Stories of Strength is an exhibition exploring identity and culture among native and immigrant Philadelphians. DESCRIPTION:As the only licensed wildlife rehabilitation clinic in the city of Philadelphia\, the Wildlife Clinic at the Schuylkill Center takes in thousands of sick\, injured\, and orphaned animals each year. Our small team of clinic staff relies on the support of dedicated Wildlife Clinic volunteers to care for native small mammals\, birds\, raptors\, reptiles\, and amphibians. Start on your path to become one of our dedicated Wildlife Clinic volunteers by attending a volunteering training session.\nSign Up\nVolunteer Training Requirements\nBefore starting work in the clinic\, volunteers must attend a training session\, submit a volunteer waiver and application\, and complete online ethics/safety courses. Clinic support volunteers must be at least 16 years old and commit to a weekly 4-hour shift. Animal care volunteers have to be at least 18 years old and commit to a weekly 4-hour shift. Further requirements and expectations can be found on our volunteer page and will be covered during the volunteer training sessions.\nAvailable Training Sessions\nIn-person training sessions will be held on Saturday\, February 7 and February 28 from 2:30-3:30pm. Registration is required. If you cannot attend any of the in-person training sessions\, we offer an online training video HERE. SUMMARY:Clinic Cleaners
DESCRIPTION:Clinic Cleaners help us maintain a neat and tidy environment for our patients at the Schuylkill Center Wildlife Clinic. Wildlife rehabilitation can be messy work\, and Clinic Cleaners help us maintain a healthy environment by assisting with laundry\, sweeping floors\, and cleaning the lobby. This allows our expert staff to focus more time on caring for the thousands of animals that the Wildlife Clinic cares for every year. Tasks will be assigned based on the needs of the Clinic.\nRegister Now\nCleaning materials and personal protective equipment\, such as gloves and masks\, are provided. Volunteers should wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Clinic Cleaners will not be working directly with animals or have access to patient areas.\nClinic Cleaners must be at least 18 years old to sign up and are required to watch the Wildlife Clinic Training video prior to participating. Due to limited space\, we are unable to accept walk-ins.\nCan’t make this date but want to attend an upcoming event?
