SUMMARY:The Future of Local Clean Energy: Community-funded\, Community-owned
DESCRIPTION:Your Money\, Your Power: Finance Local Solar in PA Ready to see your investments make a tangible difference in your backyard? While big developers overlook smaller projects\, the Clean Energy Co-op is stepping in to bridge the gap. We’re harnessing the power of many small investors working together to bring renewable energy projects to fruition. We empower Pennsylvania residents to collectively fund solar installations for the organizations that anchor our communities—nonprofits\, co-ops\, and local community-beneficial businesses. Proven Success: 8 completed projects and counting. Big Momentum: We are currently funding our largest installation to date. Community First: 100% volunteer-run and member-owned.

DESCRIPTION:Join Weavers Way Co-op and Clean Energy Co-op members as we celebrate expanding renewable energy with the solar installation at the Germantown store. Come talk to the Clean Energy Co-op and Solar States (solar installer for this project) to learn how you can either install solar on your property/institution or directly increase the amount of renewable energy installed in Pennsylvania with the Clean Energy Co-op’s pooled investment strategy. Kids can run a shoebox sized solar car. There will be brief messages followed by a group picture at 1:30pm. \nStore location is: 328 W Chelten Ave\, Philadelphia\, PA 19144

SUMMARY:Community Based Solar Solutions to Renewable Energy Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Solar energy is now more accessible and coming on line faster than ever before. Thanks to historic climate wins such as Biden’s Affordable Clean Energy Law\, more Pennsylvanians can access the benefits of a whole range of environmentally friendly upgrades. Through the Inflation Reduction Act you can now receive a 30% Federal Tax Credit for rooftop solar which is propelling this incredibly promising energy source ahead across the nation. However\, rooftop solar is an impractical option for many people\, including renters across Pennsylvania\, with renters accounting for nearly half of all households in Philadelphia. \nJoin Climate Action PA\, Philadelphia Solar Energy Association\, and VoteSolar (and more) to learn more about alternatives to rooftop solar\, so that all Pennsylvania residents can be a part of a sustainable solar future! Liz Robinson of PSEA will discuss these alternatives\, including community solar and community choice aggregation (CCA). Learn more about the Pennsylvania Reliable Energy Sustainability Standard (PRESS) legislation and the requirement for Pennsylvania to get 35% of its electricity from solar and other renewable energy sources. We will also hear from Elowyn Corby of VoteSolar Action Fund regarding organizing efforts to legalize community solar in Pennsylvania\, and implementation in surrounding states. An update will be provided on the Biden-Harris administration’s grant of 7 billion for the Solar for All campaign and what it means for low-income Pennsylvania residents! \nCosponsors: Conservation Voters of PA\, Vote Solar Action Fund\, Philadelphia Solar Energy Authority\, Climate Action Campaign\, Solarize Philly\, Sierra Club
