DESCRIPTION:Interactive workshop with TTF and Artist Rebecca Schultz \nThe Tookany/Tacony Frankford Watershed Partnership is partnering with local artist Rebecca Schultz for a multi-part educational program using arts and community science to learn about our watershed! This workshop will begin at High School Park\, where participants will learn about key indicators of watershed health and conduct some sampling/monitoring activities at Tookany Creek\, including collecting aquatic macroinvertebrates and testing dissolved oxygen. The workshop will then move to the Elkins Park Free Library (a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive) to create mixed media artworks inspired by the data they collected. Binoculars are provided! \nReserve your space here | Reservar su espacio aquí \nTTF has Bird Guides in English and Spanish\, which include a map\, a list of bird species found in and around Tacony Creek Park\, courtesy of Keith Russell of Audubon Mid-Atlantic\, and helpful tips for spotting and identifying birds in the park. \nThe woodlands and meadows that make up Tacony Creek Park provide year-round habitat for over 100 species of birds and other wildlife. The 3.2-mile paved trail that runs along the creek\, part of The Circuit regional trail network\, provides access to the park and an opportunity for recreation\, exercise\, and enjoyment of nature. 85 species have been recorded here during the month of October.
