SUMMARY:Tu B’Shevat Gathering and Arboretum Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a short tour of Laurel Hill West’s wintry arboretum in celebration of Tu B’Shevat\, the Jewish New Year for the Trees. As we examine barks\, buds\, and berries\, we’ll learn about the historical\, agricultural\, and spiritual origins of Tu B’Shevat and how it is celebrated around the world today. \nAfterward\, warm up indoors in our Conservatory while enjoying wine and fruits significant to the holiday and often consumed during Tu B’Shevat Seders. This event is presented in partnership with the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History. \nThe tour portion of this event lasts approximately one hour and requires some walking on hills and grassy-uneven terrain. SUMMARY:Collage for Compassion: A Cancer Support Benefit and Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Cancer Support Community is pleased toannounce Collage for Compassion\, a fundraising benefit and exhibition in partnership with Philadelphia CollageWorks. This event is free and open to the public and will take place at the beautiful historic Ridgeland Mansion in West Fairmount Park on Thursday\, November 20\, 2025\, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. \nCollage for Compassion will showcase a diverse and vibrant selection of original artwork by\nPhiladelphia CollageWorks (PCW)\, a members’ collective of collage artists. Highlights of the\nbenefit exhibition will include traditional analog collages made from paper\, fabric\, and found\nmaterials\, as well as photographic\, digital\, mixed-media\, and assemblage pieces. Ornaments\, cards\, and prints created by PCW artists will also be available for purchase. \nComplimentary wine\, cheese and light refreshments will be served amidst the elegant surroundings of the historic Ridgeland Mansion. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists behind the work\, to learn about the staff of the Cancer Support Community and what they do. This evening supports individuals affected by cancer\, dedicated to art and hope\, and is open to all with no admission fee. \nYour attendance and purchases are vital contributions to the Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia. You can play a crucial role in establishing a sustainable foundation for education and wellness programs for those in our region facing the challenges of cancer. 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit our community. We also welcome your donations\, which can be made online at the Cancer Support Community website or at the benefit event.

DESCRIPTION:Rework the Runway is a sustainable fashion show and design competition happening on Earth Day 2024 at North Bowl in Philadelphia. \n10-15 hand-selected Philly-based designers will use secondhand clothing and recycled materials to create one-of-a-kind reworked looks to be featured in a fashion show. The winner of the competition will win a full 4-way rack inside Urban Exchange Project to sell their items at full profit for 2 months as well as a First Friday event highlighting their residency. \nUrban Exchange Project will also be releasing its line of recycled and reworked pieces in the 2nd portion of the show. \nJoin us for a night of fun\, fashion\, creativity\, and community! There will be food & drinks provided by North Bowl\, bowling\, art\, and a vintage sustainable night market out front. \nEvent is 21+ due to venue restrictions.
