SUMMARY:Daylily Documentary Screening
DESCRIPTION:Daylily is a feature length documentary that explores the devotion surrounding a plant that blooms for only one day. Through the personal stories of gardeners from different backgrounds\, the film reflects on the fleeting beauty of life and the quiet meaning found in moments that often pass unnoticed. By observing these flowers\, which appear briefly and are found everywhere\, the film invites viewers to recognize the same fragility\, value\, and presence within themselves. \nDuring the making of the film\, I traveled to nine U.S. states and two countries\, interviewing gardeners along the way\, and ultimately finished the project with a deeper appreciation for the small\, often overlooked moments we pass by every day. One of the most meaningful moments in the film centers on what many people casually call “ditch lilies.” Flowers that are easy to ignore slowly become something an entire community learns to truly see and celebrate. \nAnother powerful story comes from the history of daylily hybridizers and the ongoing efforts of today’s growers who are shaping the future of the plant. \nWorking on this project changed my perspective on life\, and I hope it can offer the same inspiration to those who watch it as it did for me while creating it. This film brings warmth to winter and allows audiences to experience the peace and unexpected gifts that flowers bring to us all.

Philip Street\, Philadelphia PA 19133)\, an ADA accessible space. \nYou can expect an evening with a joyous and celebratory vibe: DJ\, mocktails and cocktails\, light bites\, short films\, and new merch. This program explores what mushrooms are\, where they grow\, and some of the both common and unique species in PA.     \nGrab a hot drink\, get cozy with a blanket\, grab your laptop (or smartphone)\, and join the program via Zoom.   \nSave the date for our spring events; we’ll be hosting a Fungi Foray & Connect with Philadelphia Mycology Society and our NextGen Council for more fungi-related fun in the field.  \nAbout the instructor:    \nJulie is the Senior Director of Education and Curriculum for Allegheny Land Trust. In her role\, she creates hands-on STEM and place-based lessons for children and adults alike as well as providing state accredited professional development for educators.  \n This is a virtual event. DESCRIPTION:Join Natural Lands’ NextGen Council for a fun adventure in nature during our Spring Equinox Stroll & Connect at Saunders Woods Preserve. Open to all; folks in their 20s\, 30s\, and 40s are especially encouraged to join us.  \nPreserve Manager Luke Hamilton will lead us on a tour exploring some of the recent projects as well as enjoying an evening spent surrounded by nature. We’ll end our walk by the barn with a small campfire to warm up and enjoy some refreshments and hot beverages.

DESCRIPTION:In this fast-paced world\, it becomes difficult to take time to pause\, breathe\, and take in the abundance that nature provides.   \nJoin Certified Forest Therapy Guide Stacey Vinci for a slow-paced\, sensory guided walk\, wander\, and reflection at Hildacy Preserve. Stacey’s relational and heart-centered approach can promote wellness and healing\, regulate the nervous system\, support the immune system\, prevent burnout\, and help strengthen our relationship with the natural world.   \nAll walks are invitational\, and trauma informed. We’ll end with a tea tasting and light snacks.  \nAbout the instructor: Stacey Vinci is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified forest therapy guide through the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy. Stacey has been in practice for 14 years supporting individuals\, communities\, and family systems in generational healing\, growth\, and change. Stacey facilitates embodied wellness through somatic\, trauma-informed\, and nature-based offerings.
