SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Appetite Builder with Ted Apple and Eric Dahlberg
DESCRIPTION:Photo courtesy of Stacey Gray\nMeeting at Valley Green Inn (see map here)\nThe northern parking lot can be accessed by Wises Mill Road\, and the southern by Valley Green Road. Overflow parking is in the Upper Lot.\nThere are bathrooms available for use at the Inn.\nJoin FOW Trail Ambassadors Ted Apple and Eric Dahlberg for a moderately paced hike on the beautiful trails of the Wissahickon Valley. We will cover between four and six miles (depending on the group and trails chosen) as we enjoy building our appetites for Thanksgiving dinner while viewing the part in the late fall. While the leaves may be mostly gone\, this allows for great views of the park and Wissahickon Creek.\nWell behaved dogs on leashes are welcome as are children 12 and up able to keep the pace.\nHiking boots and poles are strongly recommended. Depending on the weather\, trail conditions and water levels\, there may be some water crossings. These should be able to be traversed without getting feet wet by going from stone to stone.\nDistance: 4-6 miles\nLevel: Moderate (some inclines and declines\, uneven surfaces)\nAudience: Ages 12+\nRegistration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. \nUnless otherwise specified\, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky\, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.\nRegister below!

SUMMARY:Collage for Compassion: A Cancer Support Benefit and Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Cancer Support Community is pleased toannounce Collage for Compassion\, a fundraising benefit and exhibition in partnership with Philadelphia CollageWorks. This event is free and open to the public and will take place at the beautiful historic Ridgeland Mansion in West Fairmount Park on Thursday\, November 20\, 2025\, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. \nCollage for Compassion will showcase a diverse and vibrant selection of original artwork by\nPhiladelphia CollageWorks (PCW)\, a members’ collective of collage artists. Highlights of the\nbenefit exhibition will include traditional analog collages made from paper\, fabric\, and found\nmaterials\, as well as photographic\, digital\, mixed-media\, and assemblage pieces. Ornaments\, cards\, and prints created by PCW artists will also be available for purchase. \nComplimentary wine\, cheese and light refreshments will be served amidst the elegant surroundings of the historic Ridgeland Mansion. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists behind the work\, to learn about the staff of the Cancer Support Community and what they do. This evening supports individuals affected by cancer\, dedicated to art and hope\, and is open to all with no admission fee. \nYour attendance and purchases are vital contributions to the Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia. You can play a crucial role in establishing a sustainable foundation for education and wellness programs for those in our region facing the challenges of cancer. 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit our community. We also welcome your donations\, which can be made online at the Cancer Support Community website or at the benefit event.
