DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Easter like a Swede at the American Swedish Historical Museum’s Easter Family Day! Join us on Sunday\, April 6th\, from 2-4 pm to experience Swedish Easter traditions. In Sweden\, Easter kicks off with a trick-or-treat-like candy hunt on Maundy Thursday. Children dress up as Easter witches with long skirts\, headscarves\, painted red cheeks\, and freckles and go from house to house\, wishing people Happy Easter. \nAt our celebration\, children can make Swedish Easter crafts\, dress up as Easter witches\, enjoy face-painting\, and take part in a traditional egg hunt. We will have two egg hunts\, one for kids ages 2-5 and another for kids 6 and older. Egg hunts will take place outside\, rain or shine. DESCRIPTION:Learn about the history and hidden gems of West Fairmount Park on this guided bike tour.\n\nDATE\nSaturday\, November 9 \n\n\n\nTIME\n9:00 am – 12:00 pm \n\n\n\nLOCATION\nJohn Welsh Memorial Fountain \n\nJoin Fairmount Park Conservancy and experienced bike tour guide Graham Robb on a five-mile\, all-levels bike ride of West Fairmount Park on Saturday\, November 9 from 9 AM–12 PM. \nThe guided bike ride will highlight the history\, hidden gems\, and stories of interesting places in West Fairmount Park.  Graham is a great storyteller who will share many perspectives on our park’s past\, present\, and future. \nINSTRUCTOR BIO: Graham Robb is a “retired” lawyer who enjoys biking\, hiking\, gardening\, and learning anything new.  When he is not officiating high school sports he volunteers much of his time with various organizations including Habitat for Humanity for whom he leads teams of volunteers on builds around the world.  A lifelong resident of Philadelphia\, Graham is something of a history and genealogy buff – having traced his Philadelphia ancestors back to the 1680s – and loves sharing past and current stories about his favorite city. \nTICKET PRICE: FREE in honor of Love Your Park. Donations appreciated. \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO: \n\nThe bike ride is roughly five miles (moderate exertion). Most of the ride is flat; however\, there will be some hilly sections.\nThis event is BYOB….as in\, bring your own bike and helmet.\nEveryone must wear a helmet at all times. Riders who arrive without a helmet will not be permitted to join the tour.\nAppropriate for adults and families with children ages 14 and up. Minors must be registered and accompanied by an adult.\nPlease dress according to weather conditions.\nPlease bring your own water and snack (drinking water is not available in the park).\n-There are a limited number of bathrooms available in the park (mostly porta-potties) so please plan accordingly.\nThe bike ride visits the places listed above but does not go inside all of these spaces.\nSpace is limited so please only register if you plan to attend.\n\n\nPARKING/GETTING THERE: There is plenty of free parking in the park. As always\, do not leave valuables in your car.If you are traveling by public transit\, the nearest station is at Parkside Ave and 40th Street.
