VU PHL & OIMBY

VU PHL is distributing food with Operation In My Back Yard on December 10th!
Operation in My Back Yard is an anti-NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) group that advocates for harm reduction and provides free food and supplies to people, including Naloxone, safer injection supplies, safer smoking supplies, safer sex work supplies, and Fentanyl testing strips. OIMBY believes in empowering people who use drugs by educating them on how to do so safely.
What we will be doing on 12/10:
We will be supporting a community outreach event in Kensington:
- Setting up tables and supplies
- Distributing food
- Breaking down and cleaning up
Additional Details:
- Event capacity: 10 volunteers
- We will be outside. Dress appropriately.
- Volunteers must sign OIMBY’s waiver.
Afterjawn!
We’ll all head to Cook & Shaker at noon for some happy hour specials to celebrate a job well done! It’s a great chance to get to know the VU Crew and celebrate the good work we’re all doing together!
