Delaware County is hosting its 2nd Annual Sustainability Conference at Widener University on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Expect to be inspired and informed by speakers and panelists centered around the County’s six sustainability focus areas and through the lens of Environmental Justice.
The Conference isfree of charge, vegan, zero waste and accessible by public transit. The event will bring together concerned citizens, experts, everyday sustainability heroes, scientists, community members, government officials, advocates, and sustainability practitioners.
This year’s Keynote Speaker is Justin J. Harris of the National Wildlife Federation. Justin will kick-off the conference with a presentation about the Climate Equity Collaborative. The Collaborative is an initiative focused on addressing the disproportionate impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities and youth. The initiative harnesses technology, smart resources and digital platforms to address the human-level risk associated with climate change and its intersection with education, children’s health, and equity.
We look forward to seeing you on June 8th as we work to Sustain Delco! Arrive early for a vegan breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack free of charge. Look for the full itinerary of speakers and panelists coming soon! #SustainDelco23
